The MaxioCel Gel is intended for the removal of non-viable tissue from shallow, undermined, deep wounds (e.g., Pressure sores, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, malignant wounds, burns, surgical wounds, scalds, lacerations, grazes, amputation and fungating ulcers) and for the treatment of granulating cavity wounds, excoriated skin, and radiation burns.
Biofilm Disruption: MaxioCel Wound Gel has been evaluated against two different kinds of biofilm forming bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa). Results demonstrated the superior efficacy of MaxioCel Wound Gel against both organisms as compared to the colloidal silver gel.
Technology: Protonated Cleansing Technology (PCT) maximizing the wound healing, debridement and antimicrobial properties of native chitosan without chemical modifications in its backbone. In Combination with PHMB preservative, PCT induces triple mode of antimicrobial action for positively charged chitosan through bacterial cell membrane lysis, inhibition of mRNA and protein synthesis disruption and DNA Damage of microorganisms.
